After today’s yoga class, I have a point to make. As a novice, I know that I know nothing about Yoga and I am not even close to the stage to make any point. But as an ordinary person who is enthusiastic to practise Yoga, I have gained some common sense about what could be the right path to do it and what could be wrong.

I guess my attitude towards Yoga practise was not quite right. In the past, I thought that being able to do as many poses (asanas) as it requires would be an indicator to tell one’s level of Yoga practise. Recently I had looked back and the further reflection about Yoga tells me that Yoga is not acrobat and the essence of practising Yoga is to enhance one’s self-acceptance and to know what the limit of your body is.

Yes, you do need to face your fears and sometimes challenge your body to accomplish some asanas, but the more important thing is that, by doing poses, you can feel your body and try something you have never tried in your whole life being, and that self-perception about your body and soul is the most amazing and important part of practising Yoga. It’s a gradual progression of your body’s flexibility and if you can’t do it now, you don’t push too hard to do it. It’s not a competition, and all you want to get is peace and harmony. If you force too much to a level that you can’t achieve, there will be only conflicts and frustration left but nothing else.
