It is a good day, sunny and warm. After having had heavy frosts, big winds and low temperature in the past a couple weeks, we finally see the sign which actually tells that the winter probably won’t last long. I even had a feeling that the spring is coming. Well, “not yet”, I know, but at least, I can hope so
Anyway, good weather for time out. We went to Canberra Yacht Club at Yarralumla, which I supposed only to be known to me as the place where a bunch of embassies are, especially Chinese Embassy which occupies the best corner of Lake Griffin-Berkley.
However, when we drove really down deep along the road, we saw the fantastic views that are totally different from what the normal tourists would see from the other side of lake, Commonwealth Park. Here, should I say, is quieter, yet giving a kind of vibrating views that impact your eyes.
It’s still that big lake; You are still able to see the Telstra Tower, the tip of Parliament House and the fountain of Captain Cook’s boat, but with cyclists passing by, lots of runners on the roads and boats at anchors in the lake or along the water bank (which reminded me those small bays in Sydney), I couldn’t believe this is Canberra.
I should have been here earlier. I guess that I must have missed a lot. Staying in a small place and living a lifestyle only consists two destinations, your home and your workplace, are really a big waste of our life and what the world has offered us.
Hey, one more exciting thing, the dragon boats!!! We see plenty of them, the real ones. Simple design but nice! I picked a seat and sat in as if I was sitting in the middle of another 20 people. Feeling quite safe, I reckon it’s a great starting point:-)
