We went to Queanbeyan Kangaroos RFL Club for our Christmas Dinner this year. The part of reason for this choice is because we heard that there is a newly opened Italian restaurant called Tosolini’s. I had a quick look at their menu over there, not many words that I could understand, such as vitello alia parmegiana, or salcisse al ragu, or penne al arrabbiatta…..I am not so into pastas or pizzas in a restaurant setting, so after having lost in Italian, I thought “what the hell? Just give me some grilled salmon with couscous”, it will feed me well with all the nutrition that I would need.

Well, recently I did eat a lot of salmon, most of them were raw salmon. I think I do like it. My husband kind of urged me to eat salmon or other fish every week, so I thought with a eating-out occasion when I am not very decisive about what I need, I would rather choose something that I don’t eat every day.

I think they did a reasonably good job with this salmon dish, not over cooked, not under cooked, done just right. I love couscous but sort of unhappy with tomato-ish sauce. If I cooked it myself, I could have done differently or wouldn’t have cooked salmon at all. Anyway I think I was happy with what I ordered. The tummy was not too full but felt quite satisfied.

However the most impressive part of the dinner was playing with bonbon. I have got a funny kind of joke riddle inside the bonbon, then I ripped it off and turned it into two paper ladies with long pretty dresses. I love the noise it makes, and I sort of wanted to buy some for myself for our own Christmas dinner, though I am not sure if we would have a formal one or not.

The funniest thing of all for this dinner was my supervisor, who was having a cigarette outside the restaurant when I drove the car into the car park. She said she was so excited that she couldn’t help waving to me. Then I got to know the reason…it was because this was the first time she saw me driving…. Come on, wake up, girl! I am just about to change it to green P now. Where have you been? South Pole?

By the way, guess what I’ve got from my secret Santa? A pack of acrylic paints and a set of artist brushes of 7. Someone knows me well :-)
