Everybody got excited as the Turkish Grill restaurant at our next door finally got opened. I have never seen any other cuisine than Chinese had such a good reputation in the group of Western people. They couldn’t wait to book the food, so here we go! We booked something for today’s lunch with only $5.00 for each person yester, and at 12:30am we set the table in the office and were also going to do the Secret Santa.
The food was beautiful. We’ve got four different kinds of dips, Turkish bread cut into small pieces, vegetable salad are fresh and green lefty, chicken and lamb skewers grilled just right, and fried zucchini balls…..not bad as well, and Turkish rice (white and brown colours), and 2 different kinds of pide (a kind Turkish pizza), vegetarian and beef. I have never tried pide before. After tasted the pide, I have decided to stop eating pizza from now on. Pide tastes much much better than pizza, and it’s tasty, but not greasy and fatty at all. It pretty much like a pocket or our Chinese meat pie, with pastry outside. I love Turkish bread, but never thought I can eat it with Turkish dips….yummy!!!!
I felt funny when I opened up my gift from Secret Santa as I found I’ve got a funky photo frame from the same company “Out of Box”, which is also the one I bought from as a secret Santa for other girl. I can guess who is my secret Santa, but not 100% sure. It’s fun to have a guess around. I also got two boxes of chocolate, one from my Santa, and one from a new mom who is in her maternity leave.
I am still very busy. I can’t figure out a reason why at this point where we are so close to the holiday, I’ve got so many things need to be finished off. I have been on the run since the early morning. I even couldn’t get time to drink my tea.
