After I’ve taken this photo, I decided that I am going to like this centre now. I have been watching this building developing from a piece of parking lot land into an odd black box-liked castle, then a stunning construction which holds so many nice paintings that I do like a lot.
It was still awful to look at it one month ago. To me it was like a boring warehouse but nothing else. I gave it a nickname “New Castle”
Then very soon after that, I was offered a tour before its opening when workers were still working on the site with some unfinished business. We were guided to get to see every tiny corner of the Centre, even performers’ dressing room, band pool and backstage. We even paid a brief visit to the VIP Room which I did think on the day that I probably would not be there again once the Centre opens for real.
I have to say standing inside the building in front of the superb foyer, it actually feels quite different from what it looks like from outside. The contrasting black and white, the simple structural lines and lightnings enhance the touch of a contemporary styled design. I am now kind of looking forward to getting in there again to see something.
