That time of a year again! I was not excited at all. Having two years experience and knowing about how exhausting and shambolic this event could be, I kind of lost my interest right after the last time.

This year’s Venue was set in Rydges Eagle Hawke Resort on the Federal Hwy, so it’s only 20 minuets drive to Queanbeyan. Because there is no need to stay for overnights, I was only sent out for a day trip to oversee the Expo that I had organised.

Frankly the Expo is the less troublesome work among all the rest of tasks. It only took me no more than 30 to 40 phone calls. I know most of service providers myself and I only wanted to keep the size small but relevant. So there was no commercial company invited.

I spent most of my day sitting behind of our table, but for the rest, I was rather attracted to the decor in the Resort’s lobby and lounge every time when I was passing by.

I guess, I like it. Not just a single wall hanging art work, but the overall colour tone. In many residential houses in Australia, I had noticed that this so-called neutral tone is quite popular. People use it as the theme wall or simply apply the neutral colour on all living room walls. It looks extremely good with crispy clean white rims, like window frames or basement decorating lines. And it makes all sort of artworks standing out, even the simplest contemporary design.

I have decided if one day I could ever paint my own place, I would paint it with this sort of neutral colour. And, like what Eagle Hawke did, add a bit of purple to tune the colour theme a bit to enhance the warmth. Hehe…who can’t daydream?
