The 5 years old water kettle finally was abandoned. A couple of months ago, the lid of kettle started to deteriorate with the white powder-ish pieces felling off. The electric circle is still good. I reckon it might last another 5 year until it finally will die. Yesterday morning, the whole lid of the kettle fully went off the kettle body and I don’t see any reason to keep it going like this any longer. Y243.00 RMB for 5 years…we use it every day nearly at every meal or between two meals. Its actual value in the reality has already gone far beyond its initial value.

The new one we got is Breville Traditional looking 1.8 litre capacity with fastboil rear water gauge, concealed element 360 rotational base, hidden cord storage, non-slip feet, removable washable lime-scale filter, neon power indicator and keep warm setting, which are pretty much all we need. Due to the previous experience, we decided to get the one made of stainless steel material instead of plastic. We also gave up the ordinary kettle look but turned to the traditional appearance which made Lily ask me if I can use it on the stove J Haha….that’s the effect I wanted to achieve.

With the new kettle, this morning I brewed an apricot-sized Pu er Tea block and watched the water growing so dark. I asked myself “what am I drinking? Coffee or tea?” I nearly fooled myself. The tea is also from Lily. After a couple of times trying, I decide that I do love Pu er Tea very much. Then 9:00am in the office, I need to go to the toilet…which was good! It works like a diet tea on me. I should drink it more :-)
