As Saturday I was so slack, most of the housework was left to be finished on Sunday. I started with making soy bean milk, then washed two loads of laundry, made some Chinese Buns for next two weeks and tried the new recipe of Apricot Slices (No baking) that my workmate gave to me. When the time that everything got done and I sat down to start to write email to Mom, it was already 11 o’clock in the morning. I felt tired but also relieved. I think I kind of have the same syndrome as Monica Gellar, who represents the highest version of people of our type and absolutely helpless, while my condition looks much more curable than hers.
Anyway my husband loves the apricot slices, I can’t believe that he ate so much, though he suggested me to reduce the amount of sugar but add more chopped apricots. We both love apricots, it is much more like a fact we found out since last time we bought some Turkish apricots. The Chinese buns also went well. According to my husband’s, it was almost the most successful practise so far. But he understands I have no control on what would happen for each time. Indoor temperature, the amount of yeast, even the condition of my hands would be totally different at each time. I am glad that he recognised me as a pure farmer whose harvest completely depends on the God’s will
Since there was no specific plan for today, I looked in my knitting torte and digged up one ball of left-over Fun-fur yarn from last time when I knitted Tuscan cushions. I was so convinced by the Catnip Mouse pattern provided by Lion Brand that I can’t resist immediately working on it. At about 7:30pm, I finished the work and the knitted mouse turned out a bit bigger than what I had expected. Well, it’s not a big deal. I loaded the mouse with the rice we hate very much instead of the suggested catnip. Since we don’t really have a cat at home, so I suppose that this toy will mostly only interest me and my husband

But I admit that I got disappointed at the final result, so I decided to knit some really simple with the rest of yarn to cheer myself up. Finally, I made a very short garter stitch scarf which is just long enough to wrap around my neck. I designed a keyhole at one end of scarf by splitting the stitches in the middle for several rows to allow another end of scarf can get inserted into this hole. So, it’s much more like a neck warmer but a scarf eventually. Fun fur is really kine of famine material, especially perfect for using as a trim, on edges or anywhere needs a bit luxury treat.
