About a week ago after I have finisheded with that pink Stardust, I began a new project with that crispy green cotton yarn from China. To be honest, I have never seen any yarn like this before. It’s basically made with dozens of normal sewing cotton thread-sized strings but without any blending or twisting together. So those dozen threads just lay there and it’s really odd when you do cast on for the first row as you sort of insert your needle into between the threads and you can’t help saying “what the hell! Is this going to be like that for the whole knitting?”
Lucky that when I got on the second row, all the fears and worries went away as I felt it was actually quite pleasant to knit with this yarn, soft and drappy, easy to work with, and I can’t wait to see how it would turn out when it is being actually worn. I assumed it would be very nice for clothing as it’s sort of skin friendly yarn.
Now I have finished the front piece. The back piece is exactly the same as the front one. And sleeves are alike as well. There is only basic decreasing shaping called for majoy pieces and adjour pattern is easy once you get used to it (It did give me crossed eyes at the beginning as I am not sort of chart reading knitter at all).
However I can’t believe that I made the same mistake twice. I forgot the edge stitchs on both front and back pieces when knitting the first row. I was really cranky after I found out what was happening. I must look very GRUMPY :0-<
