It’s so nice to see this year’s Ikea catalogue posted to my mail box. My husband is such a sweet heart; he booked it for me online without telling me ahead. Since Canberra doesn’t have Ikea, I felt that I have been big cut off the link with such a fancy and nice store. I was big sad when I moved to QBN and realised the fact that I can not go to Ikea whenever I like
Anyway, the new catalogue somehow gets me back to the old feelings for Ikea. I noticed that I have never been spiritually out off the loop of what Ikea has ever set in my mind and impacted to my imagination about a perfect home setting. After so many years, I mean after I have seen the Ikea’ s location change from Ma Dian to Wang Jing in Beijing, and after I have realised the stinky smell growing in Beijing’s Ikea store (and I hated it so much that I refused to go there as often as I did), I still love it and look forward to see it from time to time.
People talks about Ikea offering cheap things with bad quality. It’s not completely true. For those people always spend more than 5000 AUD to buy a piece of furniture, Ikea is cheap. But money is not all. You gotta look at many things in what you buy, the design, any innovation of function within, and most importantly, if you feel comfortable and inspired. As I always say, life is short. I would rather choose many varieties of furniture in my whole life span or keep changing the style of my home, than sticking on a heavy, fine quality wooden masterpiece for my all time being. Fine furniture is certainly worth and good, but shouldn’t be the once-a-life thing. Life is immense, if you can not enjoy them all, at least try to be open to them or offer them the chance to let you enjoy. So, Ikea, has been put in my things-to-do list in Sydney
