Woke up this morning, from the bathroom window, I saw that the roofs across over were covered by white snow.

What? No kidding!!! We had snow last night? I got excited instantly. I have never seen snow that had happened in Canberra, although I heard of a couple of times where people were talking about over the mountain of Captain Flat, there had snow once or twice, but according to weather records in surrounding area, Canberra hasn’t had snow for about 15 years.

I decided to go out and take a picture after I filled the water kettle and turned the switch on. I sort of was compelled to do that as the scene actually reminded me Beijing, where we have snow quite often in the winter. Snow is a pleasant thing for that city. Since I was a very young kid, I was taught in school by teachers that farmers would probably be the happiest ones to see snow, and snow would work like a thick warm quilt for those frozen land and protect them from chilled winter wind.

However, we were taught too many things that actually go beyond our common common sense and the ability to understand. We are so far away from agriculture industry and those people who actually produce the corp and grain and provide what our lives rely on. This world has such a wide range of missions that people live so differently and fill in their position in so different ways. I wondered how many times I had ever gotten my hands into the soil or earth to touch the land, and how many times I had ever gotten close to mother nature. Like this early morning, I tried so hard to shoot what I saw, but the photos could never reflect what the world really is.

However, it’s of course not snow. It’s not even close. My husband defined what I saw as “severe frost”, which I reckon, probably is more appropriate.
