Have you ever seen the Xmas Lights like this? I was shocked when I saw this. I had a mix feeling about it. Yes, it’s a grand, great and special scene and standing for the passion from the people who loves Christmas very much and also is rich enough to make all this happening. But for me, it also looks insane. The whole building is covered by decorative lights, Santa’s figure and crowded people. Did I tell you that this is a private property in Hurstville. It’s just a 50km speed limited small street, Hough Steet. But because of the scene, so many people came over and it caused a traffic jam.
The owner turns on the lights every night around the Christmas Holiday from 8pm to 10pm. And he has to send his son out and stand at the front gate to answer the audience’s question. What’s this for? To entertain the public? To add more festival atmosphere in this quiet street? Or just a hobby urges them to do this every year? Or…maybe it’s just a show? I was nearly sick when I was having a thought about the last assumption, so I was not really excited. After having taken some of photos and recorded a one-minute video tape, I found it no reason to make me stay any longer. I got off the crowd and walked back to Jessy’s car. I guess, the problem is, it’s just too much. Chinese old saying: overdoing is as bad as underdoing. That’s the word right on the tip of my tongue that I didn’t spit out at that moment.
