People in Sydney told me that it might take 3 weeks to get the response from the DIMA to confirm that they have received the online application for the citizenship. And it‘s also said that the interview will normally be scheduled 4 months after the response. Not finished yet! It even will take 10 months to get to the final ceremony to make a vow. Bloody hell how could a simple thing gets so complicated and time consuming?
We are not in a hurry at all, so when friends passed me on that piece of information, we didn’t feel any inconvenient. It even doesn’t matter for us if they don’t make a contact at all. But guess what! I already got the confirmation letter from ACT regional office about one week later after I submitted the application on line. The letter clearly requested us to make an appointment and get the interview done within one month of the date that the letter stated, which is 16th February. It means we have to sit an interview before 16th March. Wow! That’s fast.
I think I need to take some decent photos for the application. I am not satisfied with any photos that I’ve got at home, and they are all too old. I had a very little trouble to find a person to sign for me. One month earlier, I thought it could be a big issue to find a proper person to make a declaration. People knows me has gone other states and long time no contact; people around me who are qualified knows me not long enough. But the problem all has been sorted, by a quick chat. Looks like the problem is not a genuine problem at all
