After the Turkish luncheon, we sat in a circle on the carpet near our small Xmas tree with a classic yoga sitting pose waiting for the presents to be distributed from our secret Santa. At that moment we were like kindergarten kids waiting for teacher giving out her lollies…..

This morning I have been eating chocolate, pink and yellow jelly beans, collecting Xmas cards from my colleagues and arranging the rock cakes in a way that fits my desk. It’s a silly season. People do silly things, or say, stop doing normal things. One of girls in the office was late this morning because she had to pop to Klimt’s to grab the last pool table for his son. She walked in at about 20 past 9, with a smile that obviously could only follow after a great success. I pretty much doubted if she could bear the rest of the day if she didn’t get it.

So, the time to open the presents. This year’s secret Santa gives me a glass standing angel, with peach or light pinkie colour, about 20cm tall, with wings, halo on the top of her head and a flowing long skirt covering the legs down to the ground. The angel’s shape seems fragile as much as the material made of it. It’s absolutely something quite distinctive from the style of my stuff I normally would keep in my house and I thought it good as it’s different. How many opportunities would you get to collect something really different???

I decided that my new angel goes to the top of my entertainment unit, with other colourful Xmas card, right next to our Xmas tree. Night time, I lit up the tea light in a sued blue glass candle holder, turned on the tree lights and sat there squinting my eyes to look at the whole setting. The only thing I would need is Christmas music. I am thinking of I am thinking of Sarah Connor’s Christmas in my Heart, Sarah McLachlan‘s Wintersong and Laura Figy’s The Very Best time of Year…..

I promise tomorrow I will work hard in the office. The second Cardinal has been murdered at St. Peters Square, according to Dan Brown’s Angels and Demons. I couldn’t wait for seeing more murders coming…hehe….!
