Thanks the God my second RDO was eventually due. I can’t wait to get out the office. Although this is the best time of a year that we can get all the holidays, breaks, and the work really not that busy at all, I still felt quite exhausted. So many things had happened in the last a couple weeks and I desperately needed a break. We went up to the Royal Canberra Show in Exhibition Park at Mitchell. To me, it’s like an exaggerated version of Queanbeyan Show. More crowded people, bigger show ground, more show stalls, more games and more giant and scary machines.

My husband and I was obsessed with the SkyView and we decided to take a ride almost from the irst minute we entered the park (Well, it’s partly because we are too old for rest of stuff :-) I am always proud of my fearlessness about the height but totally out of blue, today I actually felt quite nervous when the little glass cage was slightly rocking and moving in almost an invisible speed. “What’s wrong with me?”What interested me more in the show was the Craft Expo in one of pavilion and then the market and Art Exhibition. After so many years of seeing spinners on all sort of knitting websites, I finally got to see a real spinning machine operated by a real person on the Expo. I talked to this cheerful lady who showed me how to control the thread through her fingers and her beautiful purple and red coloured raw wool in her straw basket. There was a group of people sitting around and believe it or not, it’s the most peaceful and comfortable scene that I had come across since the Christmas.

Another highlight of the Expo was the Pottery stall. The man sitting in front of the pottery machine was awesome. I almost believed that those mushrooms and pine fruit were real. My husband joined the draw for a free pottery class and we don’t really expect he would get picked up from that wooden box but it would be something new and different for him if that was the case. By the time we left the show, it was hot and sunny noon time. I looked at my bag, quite a lot of stuff in there, which included a crochet starched bag filled with pink rose soap. so refreshing! But what could be more refreshing than a bowl of Vietnamese pork and beef noodle soup? I just loved the lime squeeze and mint leaves:-)
