I positioned my body, and re-positioned…and I still felt terribly uncomfortable.
For this reason, it would just make me have to less love travelling around, thought travel is great but spending a night on plane is one of the most awful things that I could think of.
We arrived at Sydney Airport at about 8am in the morning, then we transferred to the Domestic Airport and re-checked in the luggage again. I was surprised that on the whole way to Australia, there has been green lights everywhere for our luggage.
To be honest, we had prepared to pay the fine for carrying the extra weight. But I have to say, this time was the most conservative time for us. We started to tie our hands tight on shopping from the second week of our stay in Beijing, and we almost took the weight into account for everything we were going to add into our luggage. It ended up total 45 kgs for claimed luggage. It could have easily gone up to 55 kgs, and in the past it was at least 35 kgs for one big suitcase.
The customs was great as well this time. I claimed everything I could but when we showed our slip to one of customs, the officer led us to a super fast lane where no checking was required. Apparently he trusted us. If I knew this was going to happen, we would have brought more things back.
The waiting time at Domestic Airport was tiresome. My husband tried to sleep on the floor in the waiting room. We finally got on plane back to Canberra 4 hours later. Our kind neighbour came to pick us up at Canberra Airport. It was cold in Canberra but not as cold as I had expected. I had my 3 quarter jeans and only a light long sleeve sweater, I felt just okay.
We were exhausted and we longed for a good sleep. We fixed the flat battery of our car, had a light dinner. Didn’t unpack the luggage at all. 8:30pm…it’s the time that we could have ever held us up till. Back to the bed with electric blanket turned on. It was like a heaven.
