It’s our Planning Day. We got away from and office and had our day spend in Airport Comfort Inn’s conference room. I did a 10 minutes presentation about my job in the morning, which was not very formal but went pretty well. Lunch time in a western country can be boring, except sandwich and a big platter of fruit, there was nothing else. I tried 4 different kinds of flavoured sandwich including salami, ham, egg salad and salmon. Besides, I didn’t miss the mango and watermelon.
A couple of girls wanted to go to the opposite of the road, where the Magnet Mark is. Magnet is another big warehouse, like Bunnings, but I never got a chance to get in. I asked to join as both girls wanted to go are all the experts of gardening and all intended to check out the plants in there. I didn’t even know Magnet has a green house until today. I couldn’t wanted to go more.
Magnet surprised me. They have lots of varieties of plants, from indoor plants, pretty roses, lovely green herbs, native species to big pine and palm tree trunk and Chinese Bansai. The lady I followed answered every silly questions of mine, and gave a mass of information on care tips. I learned the word “cascade” (meaning the plant has long and gripping leaves falling down like waterfall), also got to know some “hard to kill” plants, like mother-in-law’s tongue and what plants need self-watering pot while others need well-drainage. I am glad to know that my aloe at home is also a hard-to-kill plant. No wonder it is still there no matter what I did. Anyway, I am still a big fan of cacti and succulents plants. 20 minutes in Magnet, I nearly brought a pot back home.
Afternoon was a disaster for me. I feel sorry for myself. There was an hour I was sitting there, sufferring the pain in the tommy, and I wanted to go back home and lie down my own bed so badly.
