One thing is a new baby has been added into my collection, called dragon’s blood. It’s a kind of low compact growing sedum with fleshy burgundy coloured rosettes, very pretty and eye-striking. They are supposed to be groundcovers, so I can’t wait to see them expand.

Another thing I am trying to do is to make my existing succulent collection more prettier and more displayable in pots, though there is really not so much to do as they are all very low maintenance required.

I did add some rocks in each pot to cover the ugly soil. Those rocks also work as the background colour to make the succulent standing out. It worked very well. The idea is one day, I will be able to put all the succulents in one big open terracotta pot and fill it with white little rocks. Then I will have tall and low, different colours and different shapes all in one pot. But I don’t think it is going to happen in at least 2 months time, as I kind of want to wait until all the plants get to reach a reasonable size.

I admit that I am a little bit too obsessed with succulent, but trust me, with a lot of features that they can offer to a novice gardener, they are one of the best category in all plants that I have found in my gardening experience. They are hardy, low maintenance need, always amazingly beautiful in an exotic way and give your garden a sort of personality that truly makes a great difference from those ordinary ones. More importantly, they never failed you, no matter how neglect you have been and how carelessly you have treated them, they are always there and rewarding.
