I had some spare time to practise piano today. So-called practise actually was punching the black and white keys and making some noise.

Thought to start from some modern piano pieces that I’ve been collecting from websites, but none of them could actually keep me for more than 10 minutes. I was so bored with their stupid left hand composition :-( that soon I had to look for something else.

Then I started to play Debussy’s Arabesque and Reverie, which both are the old pieces of work I’ve been practising since ages ago. I know I didn’t get them right, but the music, every time I play, no matter how awfully I do, just blew me away. That’s what those so-called modern music couldn’t offer.

However, audiences usually have no idea about what they listen to. They thought as long as the music amuses their ears, it shouldn’t make any difference to players. But from the perspective of people who play the music, it’s not just about melody. It also has other elements involved, like how the music is composed and how they need to apply their skills, which cause that the perception of players, can be greatly different from audiences’.

You know what? That’s something I called “motivation” to play. The music gives you no motivation won’t last very long.
