We came back from our little trip to Snowy Rivers. It was a cold and wet weekend until the day we were leaving, just like last time when we were in Jindabyne.
The place we stayed in Town is called Aspire Alpine Brumby Bar. It is a lovely little apartment loft style accommodation. Old bricked interior with interesting lightings. We have a balcony with the view of lake and mountain, facing the road but amazingly we remain undisturbed by the traffic during the night time. Country town, right?
We cooked our Korean BBQ and hot pot for two nights, and hearty breakfast with congee and other stuff by Jessy for two mornings. The bedroom upstairs got extremely hot during the night time with the remaining smell of hot pot and BBQ, hehe….. Vivian kept kicking the blanket off and I only covered myself with one piece of flat sheet. Outside easily went down to minus 2.
I don’t know how much the little ones would get out of this trip. They were more interested in playing in the play ground which everywhere has it, than sensing the difference in the places.
Our second day was spent in Thredbo and Lake Crackenback Resort. Rain was on and off. I absolutely fell in love with the little village, Thredbo. It is so pretty with layered houses along the mountain slope, snow capped mountains as the far background. I think I will come back again even I don’t know how to ski, but it was exciting enough to see those fit people carry their ski gears coming off from the mountain. I can’t believe that it is a place only 2.5 hours away from where we live and we didn’t utilise it at all in the past many years.
Shall we come back again? Definitely. There are a lot interesting things we could have captured. The stone field 10ks outside the Cooma town, shooting the Jindabyne lake view for a sunset or sunrise, trout fishing, maybe staying in the waterfront apartment in Lake Crackenback Resort next time, try a nice restaurant in Jindabyne? These all are going to the next time’s plan.
