Lily couple is coming back from China, which means I could get the package from my family this evening. Mom packed in lots of stuffs, from hair bands, long-sleeved cooking aprons to traditional Chinese medicine. I was like a kid haunting the lollies in Mom and Dad’s handbags after they get back from the work, and with peeling the layers and layers of packing, the excitement and curiosity gets bigger and bigger.
The best stuff among the all are two cases of knitting needles with different lengths (one is 25cm, another one is 35cm). Each of them consists 11 sets of stainless needles (four double-pointed needles for each set) from UK No. 6 to UK No.16. Equipped with all these new gadgets, I suddenly became a pro!!!! I even have a steel 10 cm gauge with different sized holes where I can insert the needles in to get to know what size the needle is, so I won’t mess them up. I also get two crochet hooks, two wool needles, a short cable needle and four big sized knitting needles from Mom, who is so brilliant.
I can’t help starting to calculate how much they would cost if I bought these needles here. Last time I saw a set of 25cm 4mm knitting needles in spotlight which had a price tag with $6.99 AUD. If this is an average price for a set, it would cost $153.78 AUD (which is equivalent to $922.68 RMB) to get what I have now. But Mom only spent no more than 100 RMB for them. I can say it probably would be the best buy of mine in this year!
Well, now I will be able to start to knit the knee high socks which need working on set of 4 needles to form a tube. I can’t wait!!!!!
