It’s the same old place Jerrabomberra Wetlands where we go every time when we feel like walking in a bush. It’s not far, but it’s a wild, rough, isolated place and shouldn’t be a popular spot for a general outing. I don’t think there are many people would be interested in going there, but we went there from time to time to watch water birds, experience bush life and simply walked about.
Frankly I didn’t want to go there today, but my husband insisted. However I have to say after about 5 minutes stepping on the grass, I started to feel good about it, even I felt a bit itchy around the lower legs. I reckon maybe I had some bugs climbing out from not so much a well clipped turf, and went up into my pants. Now I know why people going outback would wear long boots and tie them all up.
However, we kept walking, towards to gods-know-where. This time we saw a lot of rabbits running happily in the sunshine, a couple of strange mushroom growing on the ground, and a big field of crop full of strange plants but all dried up and had died back. They looked nothing but awfully scary and ugly to me. We wondered what they were and what could be yielded out of them. I did have shivers when husband asked what would happen if a rabbit is running in this field. Oh no, I don’t think that is a very good idea!
I had even worse paranoids when it was mentioned that there might be snakes in the grass. Now I began to really want to get out of there badly. Well, going wild…. that’s how they call it. Lived my whole life in an urban lifestyle, I wondered how strong my nerves are and how much I am really ready for a bush life
