Blog is an amazing place. Since my husband fell sick, I had quite a few people ringing to ask, as well as people trying to flick messages or emails to greet. Not like old days, most of these people got to know about our current situation through my blog (what we do today, what we eat now, or where we are up to so far). So it’s reasonable for me to believe that, NOW, I have a certain group of regulars who visit my blog, if not everyday, at least occasionally.

Like many bloggers who write for themselves, I have to say that I have never thought about advertising my blog or intending to attract more readers. But like many bloggers who have been writing for a long time, with the time progresses, I can’t help noticing all the stats which are the indicators of its popularity. I get 30-50 people to visit my blog for an ordinary day, but for a crazy day like 9th November 2008, I don’t know why I got 416 people visiting. It was just very strange.

Guess what? The most popular posts of my blog are about food, like baked chestnuts, lemon honey tea or soy bean pork feet soup, or practical stuff, such as home-made facial scrub and reverse parking techniques. Some of my knitting posts are popular too, I reckon the incoming link is probably from Ralvery and the readers are knitters too.

I tend to believe myself a private person. However with what I having been doing in the territory of blogging, I am now kind of convinced that I am actually quite outspoken:-) Any people who has average IQ, if they have been here for a while, would work out most of who I am, including my age even my DOB, which schools I went to, my favourite food, my hobby, our living arrangement, my work, the health problems I’ve got, my personality, what my mom and dad do, my husband, my entire family and my whole network of friends…….

In this situation of having a blog, it seems there’s no much secret that you can keep for yourself. However, it’s a personal choice. The time you chose to write on the Internet, you actually have chosen to sacrifice your privacy.

On the other hand, privacy can never become a big deal for those people who want to protect it. Remember last year when I was in China, I happened to have a conversation with my sister about my blog. She mentioned a lot of things that I had done in the past which she got to know through reading my blog. I was surprised and asked how she knew about them. She said “only because you let us…..”.

I guess she was right. I only say what I want to let you know. Blog is a place I share the information that I feel safe to give out. The rest of my life, remains as it is.
