Before we took off to Karen’s place, I told my husband, “if you can’t fix their computers within half an hour, I have to go outside and kill myself’. He laughed. Well, I was joking, but it’s not all about joking. This is about his and my reputation. I know lately I have threatened to commit suicide a lot :-) but if I could ever have found a better way to express myself, I wouldn’t have said that.

Anyway,my husband, claimed as a half geek, got the connection done in the first 5 minutes after he sat down in front of Karen’s computer. Karen, this poor girl who had struggled with it for almost a week, now is over the moon. She carried her laptop from the study room to living room, then to backyard. The way she was carrying it was like she was carrying an electronic metal detector. She moved around to see if the connection signal would be different from one place to another. Her movements really amused me (in a nice way).

Well, I guess the reputation problem has been solved well. My husband therefore made an assumption about how wonderful it has been for me to have him to provide IT service at home and how grateful I should be for his work. Goodness me! He was so sure about it as if I am taking an advantage.

I guess to a degree, he was right. I actually took it for granted for what I have at home, thinking that they are what’s supposed to be. But comparing to a lot of other people, I am really lucky, even though I had to report him every software that I want to install on my computer and to get permission from him :-)

So instead of me killing myself, we had been actually invited back for a dinner next Saturday.
