I promised myself to write a short post after we finished off 10 seasons’ Friends. Here I am. We finally completed the last DVD disk last night. It took us about 40 days to do so in the past month, with an average of one disc per day. It once a time was the biggest happy hour of us every evening. We laughed a lot, and their life just grew on me. I can’t help my heart and mind going with the episodes, guessing, assuming, predicting and feeling good or bad.

Now they’ve all gone. Chandler and Monica were getting a baby and moving into a new house; Phoebe got married to Mike and was willing to change her name to Mrs. Hannigan instead of Princess Consuela Bananahammock. Joey’s agent Estelle died, but he’s such a big star, he doesn’t need her anymore. Ross and Rachael seemed to be together again, and promised to not ruin their doomed connection and relationship any more. The football table was broken; Monica’s apartment has been emptied; the 6 keys were left on the kitchen bench as the last shot. After the whole 10 years, I can see Chandler getting fat, Joey getting older. Ross was still the same. He is such a lucky bustard, without worrying about the time leaving its mark on his face. Rachael is getting prettier. Monica, for some reason, in the last two episodes, always wore super loose blouses. Was the Courtney pregnant in her real life?

Among the 6 characters, I think Chandler is the most mature one. He is funny but he knows what’s important and what’s not. Once he got married, he showed big respect to his wife and loyalty to his family. I never hated him.

Monica is a little woman…. talking about her size and behaving style. She is also a game lover with terribly strong desire for competition. But no one can compare to her extremely compulsive obsession with tidy the things up. Sometimes, I felt she is pretty annoying and like a little bitch.

Ross has a big passion for his career and he is very good at that. He is pretty contradicting, sometimes he’s crazy and childish; sometimes he was a caring grown-up. He’s the one who can give up himself for people he loves, like Rachael. He is the one I thought I could understand very well, but most of time I found I don’t at all. Sometimes, he even freaked me out.

Well Rachael, I can’t say I like her. She is pretty and naïve. She did a lot of stupid things, but not as much as Monica and Joey. However, she has no personality except a rich middle-class spoiled little girl becoming a successful professional in fashion industry. I just don’t know where to put her.

Phoebe, a wonderfully weird little witch, was still my most favorite character, but she is like something you can imagine in this world, not to hold in your arm or just live in your life as I don’t think I can put up with her if she was my friend. She is too unique to be true.

Joey, a friend you can rely on or never can rely on. He is smart also stupid; he is sophisticated also simple minded; he is tricky but also diligent; He loves women also royal to friends. He is the one who has gone through very two extreme poles (very good and very bad) without worrying about it; He is the only man who can cry like a woman without fear of being looked as a woman. Women like him.

I used to imagine how it would keep going if there was a 11th season or more. But yesterday I suddenly realized that it was it. No feast lasts forever! I would rather watching them stop at this point, than looking them getting old and boring. Yeah, that was it. I don’t know how many times more I would watch this show again, but I know I did have a great time with these Friends. Good bye and Take care!
