Took off at 2pm, we headed to the south. With the distance getting close to the coast, the view became distinctively different after we got passed Cooma. Who knows why. Probably due to the big rain a couple of weeks ago, the farms at the both sides of the road and the whole highland area looks extremely green and fresh. I reckon even the milk cows looked bigger, cleaner and prettier. I told my colleagues the feelings about that. They thought I was cute (mind you I guess when they say “cute”, they actually meant “crazy” or “funny” ). Well, I don’t care. I thought that was a big finding of this trip.
I enjoyed the little cozy bakery & Cafe shop at Nimmitabel, where I found a couple of interesting decoration stuff. The most impressive one was a big painting with an quite oriental theme as I can see a buddha tree and the golden colour almost occupies the whole painting and I believe it was from India. Coffee was not very good, and my collegues said the pie tasted a bit different. However I still like this small country town as it somehow made me remember the positive experience at Braidwood. But I lost the coverage of the network. I couldn’t make phone call to my husband through my mobile.
Then it was Bemboka, Candelo and Wolumia, heading to Merimbula. It took us about 4 hours to get to Kianinny and got to meet another colleague who lives in Tura Beach. The trip was fun except that I didn’t really feel safe when one of the girl was driving. There was a segment of road was quite winding, and she pressed the brake each time when there was a big truck coming from the opposite. It was like on a roller coaster. Never mind~ I finally got my feet on the ground.
Had the dinner tea at Merimbula Lakeside Restaurant, which was fantastic. Quickly dropped in workmate’s house and met her girl and boy, two energetic dogs. The general principle that I assume all the time was once again attested that female one is always a bitch and absolutely having dominance
When we got back to Kianinny, it was almost 10pm. The place I live is called Possum Place. Guess what? I saw 3 possums climbing the tree. So cute! We stopped the car watching. I nearly died. Before I went back to my cabin, we had a quick check at 3 main conference rooms and had a meeting about tomorrow’s work. I was excited also unsure about how it would turn out tomorrow.
The whole night…I had:
- 3 glasses of wine
- many cups of tea
- 4 rows of knitting: When I got up to the 5th row, I can hear myself saying “oh, let it be…” then I put the thing down;
- o page of reading: I guess it was not a good idea to bring the book along;
- 2 hours of sleep: don’t know why. I kept counting the number. Nothing worked:-(
I can only hear possum’s sound from time to time. Kianinny was so quiet. I felt like I was the only person who lives in the earth.
