I made “something” with two boring pieces of white bread for today’s breakfast. I call them French toast. Well, sounds yummy, but they don’t really seem to be that appealing as the name suggested.

We are always struggling with sandwich sliced bread. Both my husband and I don’t like them and the only bread we can stand is Turkish. However, it’s been at least half a year we didn’t buy sliced bread. So on grocery shopping day last Friday, I thought that maybe I should get them this time and try something new.

Well, this time I was very creative :-) What I did is as follows:

  • Get two pieces of bread first, and then cut the crust off;
  • Chop the bacon to thick strips, and chop tasty cheese (or cheese of your choice) finely or you can shred them;
  • Put bacon strips and shredded cheese in the middle of one slice, top with some beer mustard sauce; make sure you leave a space to four edges.
  • Cover it with another slice of bread. Use a rolling pod, press hard on the four edges to make two pieces of bread stick together.
  • Beat two eggs in another bowl, season with salt and pepper (or shallot if you like), mix well;
  • Dip the bread in the egg bowl, coat it with the egg mixture;
  • Fry pan on medium heat and brush with olive oil or normal vegetable oil;
  • For each side of bread, fry for about 3 minutes or until it’s golden brown.
  • Cut in half when serve.
