Since I was very young, I have been told not only one time that how the looks of tropical plants and animals could go “out of the imagination”. Think of tropical fishes, how beautiful and colorful they are, but they could be the firecest animals in the world . And also the man-eater trees or flowers described in some creative fictions. They only appeared in a typical rainforest, did they? Anyway, the personal experience in my short Brisbane tour reinforced my impression of the subtropical myth about its bizarre flora and fauna.

About one hour’s stroll in Roma Street Parkland gave us a very good opportunity to take a close look at these beautiful and incredibly bizarre plants. Normally they’ve got very vivid and bright colours that could make themselves appealing enough for human being’s eyes. That colour even could be pure black. Mind you that it’s not the colour you can find in a so-called black tulip. Actually I never believed the black tulips are real black. At most they are very dark red like wine. But check this out! You just could not deny what you have seen in this photo, could you?
The funny shapes are the second feature of Brisbane’s wild plants. Here flowers could look like leaves and leaves could be like flowers. Even futher, the plants could be like animals and the animals could be like the plants. Sometimes you just can not tell which part of the plant you’ve got there. Would it be just a leaf-ish stem? the flower-ish fruits or a fruit-ish flower?
Are they some fruit of thses palm trees?
I thought only coconut could grow on this kind of trees.
Well, you don’t have to know exactly what they are. All being a part of the mother nature, they know how to get along with well each other or say “seamlessly”. But sometimes you might come across something so strange that you just could not help taking a long time doing a little research, like the tree in the following picture. How come a tree could grow like that? The trunk close to the bottom part are so huge, comparing to the top half part, which really looks out of line, does it?
But one of the most interesting things in Brisbane is not only about those bizarre plants, it is also involved in some animals. Taking 10 minutes to walk through the little fern forest that full of long withes hanging up there on the trees, you could easily rush onto some master pieces built by some diligent Internet workers . These net works really amazed me and made me feel myself just a tiny and insignificant little creature who shares the same universe with other creatures as well, no matter they are spiders, flying bugs or some samll insects. Everyone is an expert in his or her own field. We’ve all got lots to learn from others and also lots worth being appreciated or respected by others. And, that is the real world with harmony and diversity that we are living in.
Anyway, let get back to the real beautiful and eye-catching things. I mean without even a bit fear but the total pleasure to enjoy to see. People can very easily find such classic colour matching and contrasting scenes in this place as long as they have the eyes desire to discover and be ready to be surprised. Bend, get yourself kneeled down or just lean forward to get close to them, you would see a wonderful zoomed-in world that completely different from what you have seen when you are rushing with your life through your ordinary and even blind eyes.
Well, I know, I am such a person who always addcites to those sensatory stimulations or maybe “enjoyment” if you want a more decent way to call it. In my eyes, the world is full of competing but also harmonic colors and shapes, meanwhile consists of foreground and background. That’s why I decided that my last photo taken in this tour was at a brick-red wall with some vining plants with some orange colour small flowers. I guess one day I would highly think of these creatures at Brisbane after I get back, because they somehow could remind me the way how I unconsciously forgot about my “self” by exploring the world that holds us all.
