Changing habit is not as hard as what we thought. In the last 8 years of my marriage, I (we) have never got up earlier than 8am in the Sunday morning unless there had been a commitment, for example, working early shift, going to catch an morning flight or having to go for an important appointment. At my mid 30s’ age, I am still a person who loves her bed very much and loves to have a bit luxury to sleep in for those weekend mornings.

However, people can live out their lives in quite a different way, like what we did in this morning. We got up at 7:30am; brewed ourselves a couple of green tea, got changed and then took off at 8am driving to Fyshwick straight away. The Fresh Food Market opens at 8am. We were kind of one of the earliest customers. It was easy to find a parking place, no queues in front of cashiers, no need to squash into the crowd and there were more fresh things available for us to make a wise choice.

By the time we finished the shopping, it was only 8:30am. We can drive back and have our breakfast at home; or if we feel like it, we can have it in any Cafe house in the market. Then we still have a full Sunday for arranging lots of activities while lots of people are still in their beds.

Well, I guess that time never slip away from you if you use it wisely, and neither can it be stolen from you if you hold it tight. If sleeping in means a lot to people who want to get rejuvenated, being an early bird can help you to own the time that you don’t want to lose. When you do it, you actually feel much better.
