I decided to take a risk to put my old earrings back on my pierced ears. I remember I had my ears pierced in 1994, but I only had kept them busy for the first 5 years. Since I came to Australia, I hardly wore any earrings.
I guess one of the reasons for that was I am prone to get inflection all the time, it really takes time and patience to care for those inflamed red-ish ear lobes. Every time I insert or take down earrings, for some reason, it will tear the wound up and make a lump around the piercing. Healing just seems quite difficult and takes longer time for me.
I had to clean it twice a day with salty warm water, apply right antiseptic liquid (the best is to use lavender oil) and wear ONE pair of earrings all the time even in a sleep (Yes, no taking-out and re-inserting, as this could cause damage to wound and delay the healing).
Normally it could take up to 4-6 weeks to get fully healed. If I can put up those 6 weeks time without touching them except when cleaning, I will be fine at the last. But the problem is, I never had done that properly
Now, I decided to give it another shot, and these are things that really motivated me:
- First, pierced ears can help to repel demons. Many primitive tribes believe that demons can enter the body through the ear. Because demons and spirits are supposed to be repelled by metal, ear-piercing prevents them entering the body.
- Sailors used to have an ear pierced to improve eyesight. So I am hoping little pressure from wearing earrings can help to stimulate my pressure points on ears for my eyes.
- Wearing earrings does improve your look: it can adjust facial shape slightly and brighten up your whole appearance. Sounds encouraging, does it?
