I came back from Bunnings today with a bag of propagating sand and 3 Envy Italian No.13 pots. I love those pots so much. They are cheap, look nice and really healthy containers for plants. I have never seen any ceramic pots or any other sorts of pots working better than this kind, no matter they look more funkier or cost more money.
It’s amazing when the first time I found that these pots actually can allow the soil breath, drain out or dry out the moist thoroughly. Most of plastic or ceramic pots just don’t work. You can see the dirt is always very very soggy and clumpy in moist.
With sand, it would do good on cacti and succulent. I mixed two parts of sand with one part of normal potting mix together to allow a better drainage for my two succulent plants. Of course I transferred them into new pots, and also planted aloe vera’s cuttings after drying them for about 2 weeks so far.
The pretty one, which has red ball cacti plant, had died when I came back from China. Probably it shouldn’t be watered that much as in cold winter days, watering a cacti can be very dangerous as the water freezes the roots. I am trying to save another cacti at this moment (it looks awfully bad), but so far I don’t see any sign of improvement.
People’s kindness sometimes can kill, can it?
