I don’t know why Wormhead called it “Bridget“, but just like what she suggested in her website, it’s quick to knit and fun to wear, which did remind me Renee’s cute but chubby image in that movie “Bridget Jones Diary”.
It’s basically a one-piece tube thing with 5×5 rib pattern to be worked on 4 dpns. And there is no increasing and decreasing required, almost a perfect project for mindless knitting.
However the result is dramatic and unique. When we are getting sick of those boring crowned hats, this is absolute something you would need to kill a long long cold winter, yet remain your personality.
I actually knitted this baby blue hat for my niece with two strands of 4 ply yarn, even I have no idea how I am going to give it to my niece in China before the winter’s gone in Beijing. I did try on myself. The thing I found out after that is, pom pom is not something only for kids. It can bring so much more to a person’s style and change her whole facial even body expressions, which is a good knitting pattern that is supposed to embrace.
I love it very much and might use to make another one in the future.

Hi!
I found your page on a google search. I really love this hat and would like to make it, but that that link you have goes to a page that no longer exists. I get the directions as you are saying them, but I am wondering how to do the “points” at the top of the hat that the pom poms are attached to.
Could you email me with either some more specific direction as to the points or a new link?
Thank you SO much!
Karen
