Officially I am on my leave now. I was told by a lot of people and books related to pregnancy to make best used of this period of time to get plenty of rest before the crazy time eventually comes. However, nothing really made a difference on who I am. I am just being very much ME, because in my mind, I have already kind of filled the every single day in the next month with something to do. My husband calls me “Polar”, referring to an opposite meaning of being a psycho “bi-polar”, and that pole is being MANIC. Well, apparently I look very high for most of the time. Sorry, this is just how my nervous system works.
So the first day on my leave, I quickly finished this baby neck pillow. It took me only like half an hour. I didn’t expect it could be this quick. I actually tried to get a pattern or template from the Internet, but failed to find anything I like. So I ended up using my imagination and measurement to create an one myself. However, here is some instruction from eHow.com, which I found quite useful.
Basically, you make a round tube with right size, but cut open to make a capital “C” shape. Sew along the edges leaving the enough opening. Turn the inside out, then fill in the stuff and handsew to close opening. It’s just this easy.
I really don’t know if this one would fit a newborn’s neck or not, but as long as you didn’t make it too small, eventually the baby will get to a stage that this pillow is going to fit his/her neck. So I am not really worried, let the time do the work.
I intended to add some embellishment, like little red felt flowers or butterflies, as the pillow looks so plain. But I am in hesitation now, as I am not sure if it would make it look too much. What do you reckon?
