Very accidentally, I came across an interesting survey report on the Internet about all sorts of brands of moisturisers sold in Australia. The report collected data from all trailers who had used the products and the scores were given on several evaluation indicators, like overall, texture, absorption and fragrance and price for per 50g.
The funny thing I found from this report is that, lots of expensive famous brands actually are not as good as their high prices should have valued. Some of them, like Yes Saint Laurent, Clairns, Dior, Estee Lauder, Shiseido, Clinique or Jurlique, all having a price about more than 30 bucks per 50g, actually not even better than Woolworth Home Brand Skin Repair Cream which is only 32 cents per 50g but ranked the third highest in all 50 moisturisers, right after Lancome Vinefit Complete Energising Moisturiser (which is $59.00 per 50g) and Garnier Synergie Quenching Moisturising Cream (about $6.00 per 50g).
Well, what do you think that I am supposed to believe after having read of this? I just don’t understand (and never would understand) why people would spend a fortune on something actually not working well and what’s the point for all the bottles that they have been collecting from everywhere? Once I had a young girl pulling her all masques out and showing them to me. Most of masks cost more than 40 AUD per one. And there was one from Swiss which cost about 280 Australian Dollars per bottle, and according to the girl, it didn’t actually work any magic. I nearly died. Well I guess it didn’t make sense. At least it’s way beyond my comprehension.
I admit that I AM getting old, but I am pretty sure that I am not really getting careless on my appearance. I must have just well passed the stage of being obsessed with buying expensive make-up to make myself pretty. I used to have that sort of idea when I was early 20s, but not anymore. The thought about buying those things just become less and less important in my life as a consumer. I am not doing it now, and I am pretty sure that neither would I do it in the future, even one day I become a multibillionaire or something.
To me, there are just too many things more important and more exciting than putting chemical product to cover that face. Let’s face it! There is no external product that can really stop you getting old, no matter how rich you are and how much you can afford to pay. So why not face it now? Pay a little respect to what your face is really up to and give it a break for all the vainity and being so manipulative.
