The last post about the Aviator Hat that I knitted one month ago mentioned that I would post a photo. I never did it. Believe it or not! I did take a lot of great portraitish pictures (some of them are really not bad) in our bathroom
where is the place I found fairly easy to do self-photographing as I can stand in front of the mirror and hold my camera with lens facing to me, seeing myself in the display screen of camera that refleced in the mirror.
To be frank, I am not happy with the hat. Not the knitting itself, but the actual effect it turned out. The design is cool and unique, but a couple of technical problems affect the final size, especially the position of front flap. The front lap is supposed to be fold up and stay where it is, but unfortunately it didn’t coorperate with my plan. Another thing is the position of flap is too low, in another word, the crown is too deep. I found it is easily to get my eyes covered by flap.
The ear flap was another pain. The plaited cords can not be attached to the point of ear flap in a seamless way. Also, I changed the position of ear flaps for a couple of times, still feeling it’s not right.
The knitting texture was great, the whole idea was special, thought, I have a feeling that I won’t really wear it in the winter. I am sort of thinking about undoing it and making something else. So, here it is…..I guess it’s the time to leave a little souvenir for myself.
